As much as I love the local beer scene, sometimes it's nice to get out of town and see what's happening in other communities. Last week I hit the road and headed up to Cincinnati for the weekend to visit family. There wasn't a lot of free time for exploring, but I did manage to find the time to swing by one local brewery that came highly recommended: Madtree Brewing Company.
The place had a huge selection, like 15 beers on tap! Usually that's a sign of an emphasis on variety over quality, but all five of the brews I tasted were really good. They even had a Belgian wit made with boysenberries called Boysen the Hood that was a deep purple color. It's not everyday you get to drink a purple beer.
If you ever find yourself in the Cincinnati area, I definitely recommend swinging by Madtree and trying their brews. And for you homebrewers out there, you can download all their recipes from their website!
